Baltic Sound: Organ & birbynė performing Baroque music of the 17th & 18th centuries
ELENA PARADIES is an organist and Associate Professor in the Art Department at Klaipėda University. She studied piano at the Lithuanian Music Academy with Professor M. Rubackyte and organ at the M. Glinka Niznij Novgorod Conservatoire in Russia with Professor G. Kazlova. She has taken organ master classes with Professors L. Krämer, J.L. Uriol, O. Janchenko, N. Danby, A. Rössler, M. Schneider, B. MacGregor. Elena Paradies has arranged more than 20 solo concerts and participated in over 200 concerts in Lithuania and abroad.
VYTAUTAS TETENSKAS is one of the most celebrated Lithuanian birbynė players today. Winner of international competitions, he is an Honoured Artist of the Republic of Lithuania. Progfessor Tetenskas is head of the Folk Music Department and Dean of the Art Department at Klaipėda University. Vytautas Tetenskas has arranged over 180 solo recitals. He has participated in over 2,000 concerts in Lithuania and abroad.
